Atlas Cup Rules




Game time
All matchs 2 x 12 min. Centered timing for all fields.
Timing is not interupted for 7 m throws, warnings or suspentions. If the referee for some reason interrupts the game, the referee himself must keep track of the time until the end of the game.

Number of players
Normally 6+1, F-juniors 5+1 and mini games 4+1

Game rules
Essentially, the rules and rule interpretations of the Finnish Handball Association are followed, and mini rules.

Exceptions to the association's rules:


  • the team that start the game is pre-determined (”home-/away team”)
  • no time-out
  • the extra time rule is customized in the placement matches (see placement rules)


Handball wax
The use of handball wax is allowed only for A- and B-categories and only in Myyrmäen Urheilutalo. In Myyrmäki-halli handball wax is totally prohibited.

Home team
The team named first in the match program is the home team. The home team starts the game. The home team provides the ball for the game and places a reserve ball by the own goal. To the games played in Myyrmäki-halli the home team provides a secretary for keeping score. The secretary need to take the game card, provided by the referee, IMMEDITELY after the game to the info desk.

Away team
The team that is named second in the match program is the away team. The away team starts the second half of the game and provides a reserv ball which is places by the own goal.

Mini-games
In the mini-games the home team provides a "referee", a game leader. If the team can not provide one, it must be informed to the tournament office immediately.
The goals are not counted in the mini-games.

Player lists
The team must register players in the system by 4th of November 2018.

Placement rules
The placement in the groups is determined as follows:

1. points
2. goal difference
3. mutual game
4. goal difference between concerned teams
5. lottery

If placement- or semifinal games end equal, the game continues until the first scored goal. The referee allot the team to start.

Over ages players
A team may have four (4) over aged players from an age group one above. Only two (2) over aged players may be on the field at the same time. An over aged player is not allowed to play in an other team at the same time. The team must apply permission for over aged players to the tournament organizer before the start of the tournament.

Conduct
During the tournament, at performance places and at accommodation, one respects other players, referees, tournament organizers and audience. All kinds of physical or mental violence as well as threatening behavior are strictly forbidden. All kinds of drugs or alcohol are forbidden during the tournament. At school accommodation it is strictly forbidden to consume alcohol
The person who violates this rule may be excluded from the tournament. Even the team to which the person belongs can be excluded from the tournament.

Protest
A protest can be submitted in writing to the info desk in Myyrmäki-halli no later than 10 min. after the game has ended.
The protest fee of 50 euro will be refunden if the protest is approved. The tournament jury deals with the protests. The jury's decision can not be appealed.

Jury
The tournament jury is nominated before the tournament starts and it consists of at least three (3) people. In the jury there is a representative from the tournament, referees and a visiting team. The jury's decisions can not be appealed, but the jury itself has the right to change the decision if the majority so decide.

Comments
